Expression Web 4 and I got off to a rough start.  So I'm curious to know how everyone else made out when they updated to EW4??

Basically, after updating and restarting my pc, I went to open Ew4 and it immediately crashed.  It did this a few times, and of course, I became a tad disgruntled.  So I went searching for an answer.

Here, it was recently discovered that Kaspersky antivirus software somehow interferes with EW4.  So I had to go remove 2 folders that were installed with Expression Web 4, and finally, all is well.

Well... I don't have any Symbols!!!!!!!  That was one of the folders I had to remove!!  Angry

But, it could be worse!!

On a lighter note, I am trying to catch up after being ill for a while and having surgery.  I hope to spend a lot more time on the forum...  So please, ask your questions here.  I will receive an email and then head over here to help you all.

Thanks!
Kelly

Well everyone - EW4 got its official launch today as along with the Expression Studio 4

http://www.microsoft.com/expression/products/Web_Features.aspx

As mentoned previousily, if you have previousily purchased Expression Web 3 - you can download Expression Web 4 Free of Charge.

I suppose along with the main bug fixes etc.... a nice new feature for beginners is the SEO Checker..

SEO Checker
The SEO Checker feature of Expression Web analyzes your site against the best practices for getting the highest possible search-engine rankings for your site.

You can choose SEO options, display an SEO report, filter the results in the SEO report, and step forward and back through the list of results in the SEO report to see more detail for individual list items.

Will post ant updates once I download the update myself.

Enjoy

Hey ya'll,

As the title says - Service Pack 2 for Expression Web 3 has just been released:

The Service Pack can be downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=4e80cbeb-a206-400f-bf7b-e8d51acbc76e

Based on the notes it fixes the following:

Issues resolved in this service pack:

When editing PHP, files you may have been asked to update related hyperlinks on the page. If you did so, some PHP tags may have been removed. PHP tags are no longer removed when you update related hyperlinks.
When you renamed a PDF file from the Folder List, the PDF file became corrupted and could not be opened. PDF files now save normally.
Expression Web 3 would crash if the list-style-image property was used in a CSS file. Using the list-style-image property in a CSS file no longer causes Expression Web to crash.
SuperPreview sometimes crashed while launching because of a problem that occurred when locating Firefox on your computer. SuperPreview no longer crashes while locating Firefox.
It also fixes the issue with Superpreview and Firefox 3.6
SuperPreview now supports Firefox 3.6. If Firefox 3.6 is installed on your computer, then it should be available in SuperPreview.

 Enjoy !!!
